The Rev. Dr. Catherine MacLean, minister of St. Paul’s United Church in Edmonton, will be the guest preacher at Chalmers United Church on Sunday, October 17, prior to the 118th Annual Conference of the Queen’s School of Religion.
Dr. MacLean will be providing leadership at the conference in a presentation with Dr. John Young, entitled “Classroom to Chancel: Preaching Doctrine Like You Love It.”
Catherine MacLean has been at St. Paul’s since 2003 and before that served churches in Canmore, Yellowknife, and northern New Brunswick. She received her Doctor of Ministry in Preaching through McCormick Seminary in Chicago in May, 2009. She also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Harvard, and a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie. Catherine was a member of the Theology and Faith Committee of the United Church and participated in the creation of the new statement of faith, a Song of Faith. Catherine is an avid reader and a poet and deeply enjoys connecting the stories of our lives and our faith.
