Worship & Music

Worship is central to the life of Chalmers United Church. On Sunday mornings at 10:30am, part of the congregation gathers in the sanctuary at the corner of Clergy and Barrie; others tune in to 960 AM Radio and form the enlarged congregational body.

At Chalmers you will find intellectually challenging preaching that invites you to reflect on theological themes and contemporary issues. Questioning is valued. Sunday morning worship calls us to take our faith into daily living in the week ahead.

Worship at Chalmers includes language and imagery that is inclusive of all and leadership that is shared among lay and ordained women, men, youth and children. Children and young people are regularly present for part of the worship service and often participate in various ways.

Organ and choral music is highly valued. The hymn book of The United Church of Canada, Voices United, is used in worship, with music from other sources used from time to time.
